Concept2 RowErg (Model D) air rower with PM5 monitor, supplied by Bench.

The Concept2 RowErg is the indoor rower competitive rowers treat as the standard for training, and the same machine used by Olympic and elite athletes in boat houses, training centres, health clubs, hotels and military bases.

The air-resistance flywheel responds to effort on every stroke. A spiral damper adjusts airflow to change the feel of the stroke, and the flywheel design keeps noise low. The nickel-plated chain needs oiling less often, the handle has a 10-degree bend for a natural arm position, and the footrests adjust across a wide range of shoe sizes.

The PM5 monitor records pace, watts, stroke rate and calories, stores data internally or to USB, and connects by Bluetooth and ANT+ to heart rate belts and apps including Concept2 ErgData. Seat height is 35.6cm. A tool-free framelock splits the rower in two for storage and front castors roll it into position. Assembly is eight screws, around 20 to 30 minutes.
